just lemme shitpost about boruto for a second, but I'll spare you image loading by putting the screencaps under a cut.
I still haven't actually finished Shippuden properly, I don't remember what filler arc the anime had gotten to when I just completely lost interest, but I only saw some brief time-skip stuff. So my entire impression of Sasuke's character progression between being a Baby Emo out for power and revenge to suddenly siring a daughter (but also mistaking her as some kind of assassin and pulling a blade on her upon their introduction) and being an Awkward Dad has been one of extreme amusement and doubt.
Sasuke for #1 Motivational Speaker in such inspiring moments as:

that's a pretty good summary tbh

Boruto absolutely needed a wake-up call, but trust Sasuke to come in off-screen in order to start a Reason You Suck speech--
although also to give some vaguely assuring words like

So you suck, Boruto, but we don't have to add manslaughter or patricide to your resume yet. Y'know why?

THANKS SASUKE!! The fact that they had to frame this so close to his face, emotionless, just had me dying.
(His follow-up of saying, "I mean that you hate to lose. I'm saying you can do it." is like--THAT'S NOT WHAT BEING LOSER MEANS LMAO)
I've honestly never super cared for Sasuke or the general archetype of moody/elitist guy out for revenge, because as far as I'm aware, he never even really has a tender moment after everything Itatchi went down, even his making up with Naruto was after they nearly beat each other to death right?
So now that... things have settled down a little, and he tries to interact with people again and it's just, "I actually am trying to make you feel better, everything i say just sounds like shade" is so amusing to me.
I've seen some cute SasuSaku fan art here and there, but honestly so much of it just seems entirely OOC for Sasuke and it's hard for my mind to wrap around the idea of someone this bad at communicating being able to have intimate moments with others...
I don't hate Sasuke, but I don't always give him the benefit of the doubt, lol

regular brain: He loves his daughter! Being openly protective is his way of showing his affection!
nirvana brain: Listen moon-ninjas, I'm Sasuke Motherfscking Uchiha, and I brought exactly One Child into the world to inherit my very important bloodline because I do everything perfectly the first time--she will not be touched, I'm not making another child bc I know what happens with that sibling shit, and I'm not here for it.
And last but also randomly while I was backtracking through these episodes to find the screencaps I wanted, what exactly did Ino do to prompt striking a pose with Sakura and Temari??

Was this actually some weird animation error where they cut a moment of Ino at least, I dunno, moving some people out of the way before jumping in? I repeated this scene several times after I noticed, "Wait, what did Ino actually do?" and they... don't show her doing anything. She just wants to jump in triumphantly lol
I'm still actually surprised we've made it this far into the series (about halfway through the currently updated anime?) but I do enjoy it. The parents get to establish over and over that they were the bad-asses of their generation, and the kids are a bit smarter, if inexperienced, when dealing with things. It's one of the few times someone could groan about "back in MY day" and I'd nod like, yeah that's p fair.
But there's also a whole creation myth involving Ninjas on the Moon I apparently need to catch up on, so
