Labyrinth of Refrain: 01
Aug. 6th, 2019 09:41 amI started Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk recently, and getting into a DRPG seriously for the first time has me feeling like a kid playing a new genre again.
I lost a bunch of progress after exploring a new floor seeing pitfall and part of me wondered, "They wouldn't really let me fall in this ravine" and they sure did, and one of my party members died from fall damage.
TIME TO RESTART
Which was fine because as I was leveling up the team, I was wondering if it's better to make new puppet soldiers as soon as I get the parts since the game was still rather forgiving for the tutorials anyway. I wonder if the items are randomly generated so I might not get the same rare items as before but I'll know better.
I think this game definitely gives me a better idea of how DnD might work too, at least with the way maps and movement works. I was confused at first not being able to read quickly enough all the actions going on during battle, but it seems like certain minutiae aren't as important I guess? Things like whether a stab/slash type effect was effective, I figured it would give me enough time to read if something like that mattered but everything happens so fast I can sort of muscle through the beginning. I'm curious what the first boss will be like.
That said, I am taking care of making my first soldiers but if it's better for me to Randomize them later I might just go ahead and do that.
On a random note, not being able to reload a file on the save menu seems like an odd choice.
