I think it's fair to say that ever since Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, it dominated my my attention-span for the next 4 months.

Now that it's slowed down a bit, I'm dabbling back in a few staple games and watching some anime when available.

Some games I've been playing )

Anime and other shows )

OH and also going through webtoons lately. I may... make a post about that separately another day since that's a whole thing.

Yesterday was the Mid-Autumn Festival, Friday the 13th, and almost halfway through Spetember--I think I'm starting to hit my Big Spooky mood.

For someone who doesn't like dressing up necessarily, Halloween is my favorite holiday and I would probably run loose decorating my living space with orange and black leaves, skulls and witchy things all-year round if no one would stop me.

The other day I got super nostalgic for Invader Zim when I had previously watched Enter the Florpus and was extremely impressed by the consistent quality of the animation, jokes and hammy moments. Apparently I remember more of the plots of episodes than my fiancé did, or we think he long buried some memories as we both talked about how messed up of a show it actually was to watch as a kid.

I wish SoCal actually got... chilly... this time of year. It still feels very summer-like, so I can't wear my favorite knit sweater with the skull elbow patches even though this around the only time it makes sense to wear it.

I accidentally spilled some water on the keyboard the other day, and so out of an abundance of caution, took off all the keycaps and let it sit upside down to dry for 48 hours to be safe.

It was actually hard to tell how much water could have gotten to the PCB since there was no easy way to unscrew the case without having to mess up the glue on the rubber feet I think, but it didn't look like there was much to begin with, only some small droplets near the arrow and shift keys, I could only see some water just where the the Shift Key stabilizer holes were. Funny thing was I was thinking of taking off the keycaps recently to inspect how dirty it may be between the keys, but besides one random cat hair, it was actually pretty spotless, to my delight.

I'm just really happy it seems to be working okay, since I did unplug it as soon as I realized where the water spilled. Some sources online were saying that some mechanical keyboards can even survive a full submersion under water if you spilled something like coffee or soda on it, but you'd have to use distilled water and wait a week to dry for it to be okay?? That kind of surprised me, but I suppose it makes sense that it wouldn't be harmed as long as it was completely dry afterwards and no residue left behind might cause a short circuit.

Took the time to let the keyboard rest to just take a day from the computer, hopefully I didn't miss much since I was just on a roll to replying to a bunch of people at once too, then I had to drop off the face of the earth for a day.

I was under the impression that the Steven Universe Movie would be out today and not yesterday, and now I have to spend even more time off places like Twitter to avoid spoilers. ;-;

So far looking online I haven't seen any official links for streaming the movie either, so that's been the one downside of not having cable access. It's really interesting that they actually were on top of releasing the songs and original scores for the movie simultaneously online though.

My TL yesterday was either all about SU or about Pkmn Masters and the new Blue Event; come to think of it, I guess it won't be that hard for me to avoid social media since Masters is occupying me on the phone. The temptation to post and comment with screenshots is pretty high, but since removing the apps I really have to consider how hard I want to share since I'd have to log into the mobile site--I did get him on the first solo pull so that was really nice and I had to celebrate.

Most of the games I play do have at least some kind of Stamina limiter though, so that's also been a nice way to keep off the phone for hours. Pkmn Masters is Stamina-less, but my phone will get hot or it'll crash at some point in the story modes and I take that as a sign to stop, lol.

I know I have other fandom things to scream about, at the very least the latest chapter update of The Promised Neverland I finally read yesterday--I haven't been playing anything on the Switch or 3DS since it's been really hot and most of my energy has gone elsewhere the past week.

I'll need more time to organize some thoughts, but since I have a job-related deadline to meet this afternoon, so I'll need to save those thoughts for later.

So season 3 of Miraculous Ladybug is finally on Netflix, and half of me went "Why did no one tell me this??" and also "I dunno if I'm even excited for this anymore"

Which mostly means I will be watching all the episodes so I can gain context again, but tumblr has kinda scared me away from even really trying to get back into that particular fandom again. At least, I think I'll go back and read some fanfics if I can spare the time, but I've just been consumed by more interesting media nowadays.

I found that I think I actually really like DRPGs? Or at least the way Labyrinth of Refrain has been introducing me, I've been having fun with the vaguest sense of RPing some OCs within the game as the story progresses. My first introduction to a DRPG game was the Etrian Odyssey 4 demo, and I think the manual map-drawing for that game went just a step too far for me.

Bravely Second has been my stand-in Final Fantasy game as the group plays FFXIV, but I don't have a PC set-up that could even run it properly. Not to mention me getting into an MMO at this time just feels like a bad idea.

I've been self-indulgent the last 2 days with making icons and I forgot how fun it was. Making them quickly too which I guess could be a good or bad thing? My tastes have skewed more simplistic icons with custom color blend modes I make in photoshop, so that honestly takes a lot less time than combing through different texture packs like I used to do. The other part is just using my graphic design production skills that have been mostly out of use but I'm happy that I can still do simple animations and typography quickly. I think that's the one thing that may take time, being to have a reliable set of fonts to go through again.

I didn't think getting back into making icons would be so addictive, but here I am 36 icons later after one day.
